In order to comply with the corresponding regulation, during the first quarter of the year, companies are required to report the emissions, transfers and management of pollutants they emit.
This report is made through the Annual Operation Certificate (COA); and companies must report on operations carried out from January 1 to December 31 of the immediately preceding year.
En consecuencia, el pasado 19 de enero la Secretaría de Medio Ambiente y Recursos Naturales (SEMARNAT), a través de la Dirección General de Industria, Energías Limpias y Gestión de la Calidad del Aire, dio a conocer que el 1º de marzo del 2023, inicia el periodo de reporte de la Cédula de Operación Anual (COA) 2022.
It is worth mentioning that the COA is a management instrument and reporting mechanism created by SEMARNAT, which allows monitoring the operation of industrial companies, observing the changes they have undergone.
With this instrument, the emissions and transfer of pollutants generated are also identified, in addition to the validated certificates are the input for the development of instruments for the establishment of public policies on environmental matters, especially for the hydrocarbons sector.
In this way, it is necessary to review before March 1, if your company requires to make any modification or update of the documentation entered in the National System of Electronic Procedures (SINATEC), or change data of the legal representative, such as updating the electronic signature so that it is valid during the process of capturing and sending the COA 2022.
