It should be noted that this initiative has the validations of experts and agencies such as the State Secretariat of Ecology and Environmental Management, which were requested by the members of the Commission of Ecology and Environment of the Congress of the State of San Luis Potosí, since greater efforts are required to protect trees in urban areas.

In the midst of a global energy crisis, the main challenge analyzed during the 2022 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) was the development of financing mechanisms so that developing countries can implement measures to address the effects of climate change.

In this context, the Mexican government detailed an increase in the emission reduction goals for the year 2030, going from 22% to 35%, which would contemplate doubling the installed capacity of renewable energies.

It is important to mention that the actions are located in three axes: nature-based solutions, low-carbon transport and industrial regulation and promotion.

The Mexican authorities also proposed reducing emissions through the implementation of the National Blue Carbon Strategy, which will mitigate 15 million metric tons of carbon dioxide, considering that the country has 69,458,613 hectares of marine Natural Protected Areas. He also announced that among these actions, the Sowing Life Program will be included to subsidize the planting of fruit and timber trees and the increase of Natural Protected Areas.
